IFTAR DINNER

Dear Parents,

Ramadan is the holiest month of the year and reminds us of the fundamental values and sentiments that we all share - charity to others, remembering the less fortunate in our society, taking time for personal reflection and renewal. The sharing of a meal with the community at school forges positive relationship and builds harmony and understanding.

On 20th of June 2017, Sirius College Shepparton Campus organised an Iftar Dinner Program at the McIntosh Hall, Shepparton Showgrounds. The dinner was attended by the parents, students, friends, family members, former Sirius College students and staff. The Iftar dinner was also attended by the officers from Shepparton Police Department. We were delighted to host approximately 170 guests.

The program started with the recitation of the holy Quran followed by the campus principal, Mr. Adem Engin’s speech. Students from different year levels presented various items related to Ramadan and Islam. These items include the recitation and translation of different verses of the Quran, performances on various Nasheeds and speeches about different topics. I truly appreciate all the students who participated and performed during Iftar Dinner Program. They spend a lot of energy and effort to prepare their items in a very short period of time.

It was great to have the opportunity to meet so many of you face to face and it was fantastic to see our former Sirius College students with their families, enjoying the company of their old friends. We are very thankful to the community members who attended the Iftar Dinner, for taking the time out of their precious, packed routines and spending it with us. I wish these celebrations of Ramadan will lead us to the path of a perfect social harmony.

Eid al-Fitr Mubarak
